Series: Updating my life

Over the past few weeks I've picked up a few items here and there in attempts to revive my wardrobe.....Sorry I don't do extravagant hauls, I'm still working on exposing sunlight on my inner fierce diva lol

Much needed break

I have been thoroughly enjoying this mini-break I'm on!! I had my finals the earlier part of this week and my next class doesn't start until next Wednesday, which has gives me about 5-6 days of free time to do whatever lol. And the timing was perfect because Lewis got his week off the day I finished my final and goes back to work the day I start school, which means that we get to spend some much needed time together without me having to worry about school or work..... YASSSS :)

Today we got together with some of our coupled up friends from church and had lunch at this really nice shopping center/mall and then just sort of hung out, sight seeing and enjoying the pretty weather. It was nice to hang out with other couples, and also nicer for me cause I hadn't really gotten to experience the couple date before. For making good grades in my classes, Lewis let me pick out any pair of shoes I wanted so I got some Jessica Simpson heels..... This is the start of a beautiful relationship..... I'm already in love with the shoes!

Lewis and I are trying to get the most out of out week together: we recently picked out our wedding rings, plan to sit down and make a semi-final guest list, going to get him fixed for his tuxedo....and lay around be lazy together..... He wanted me to know that I was supposed to give him all my attention while he was home. lol such a man baby.

Now more than ever am I trying to get more girlier...... After being called "basic" by my friend while shopping I became fully aware of how, for lack of a better word, BASIC I really was in a fashion sense. I tend to gravitate more towards comfortable, generic style clothing and I really want to get away from that..... I just don't know how! So I am slowly working towards finding my own little style and building on it. Pray for me lol......


We've had a pretty great day, and now Lewis is out with his friend for a while so I guess I'll get dinner going and just chill out for the rest of the evening......

Schools out...... for at least a little bit.

My one and only final was on this past Monday and I am glad about it! Let the winter break begin!! Uhm, I honestly really don't have much planned lol. Will probably get a few more of the big list items of the wedding knocked out while I have this time. School isn't back in session until Jan 22 so that gives me a little over a month to do some damage in wedding planning!

2 of my bridesmaids have bought their dresses ::yeas!:: and the other one will buy hers before the end of the month which will give me a chance to mark that off the list. I'm still not entirely sure if I will have a fourth bridesmaid......... still up in the air. I also need to get my hands on some really good, decently priced photographers cause we really need to take engagement photos soon- like real soon. I do not know what a good price is for a session in our area so I need to do MORE research on it.

I plan to work as much as my job will allow me to show up over the break..... I am only scheduled certain days on my particular floor but the hospital has a staffing office that you can call to pick up shifts that are available. I don't really have a need to work, but I like having my own money! Lewis doesn't mind one bit that I spend his money (and I love you for that baby) but sometimes I feel restricted in what I buy or how much I spend..... for the simple fact that it's still his money and he can question it, track it or restrict it whenever the mood strikes him. That's why I like having my own cash flow...... Independence, a habit that DIES HARD. 

We I have started Christmas shopping for everyone and still only need to buy for a few more on the list and then we will done! Feels good to beat the rush! The only person I need to personally worry about still is Lewis.... What do you get somebody who can buy whatever they want? This is always my dilemma with him.

They give you cash back on your internet purchases from the stores that they have listed! Trust me, they have all the stores you can think of... and then some! Yep! Today is the day when you can get great deals STEALS online ALL day and most places even free shipping! Websites do this the Monday after Thanksgiving and it is freaking awesome! If you knew then what are you waiting on? And if you didn't know: You're welcome :) I want to say this started up just a few years back, probably to give everyone else that wasn't out being railroaded on Black Friday a chance to catch some deals as well, or for the ones for who had to work and weren't able to get out. I've been an avid internet shopper a while so this is right up my alley; hell I've been up since 7:30 checking out different websites to shop on lol. And as a bonus to myself, I've been shopping through Ebates which gives me cash back on purchases I make from certain stores. #Winning!

My little bitty shopping haul

I told you that I was goin to do a lil shopping, shopping yesterday...

Shoot, I hadn't done it in so long it took my a minute to get into the swing of things lol. I'm so use to picking something up, walking around with it and then eventually putting it back. I even did it a few times in the first store I walked into.... but I was like "Bee, we are going to buy something!!" I hit Papaya, Aeropostale, and Victoria Secret...... I spent majority of the money in VS though; they were having the Semi-annual sale and I couldn't resist! Plus I ♥ that store so... it was fate:) I got everything I bought on sale and I even got 2 coupons from Aeropostale; one says $10 off any $40 purchase and the other that says from Jan 16 to Feb 12 they are giving 25% off a new pair of jeans if you bring in an old  pair to donate to Homeless teens..... sounds like a GOOD deal to me!! 

I was looking to maybe spend about $225 total..... so I might have to do a little more shopping :) Then I'll be done til May.

I've come to realize that I miss shopping for new things......might be doing it again a lil sooner than May!!

It's Friday!

TGIF folks! I've been wrapped up this week with... a little of this and that. But I am going to take this coming up weekend and focus on my needs and wants cause I'll be starting back school next week!! 


Yep, nursing school will be in FULL swing come Tuesday. I'm a lil antsy about it, I want to do WAY better than last semester and I know that can only happen if I stay on top of my assigned readings AND do my outside studying.....I hate studying though; this shall be interesting.


I dedicate this last free weekend to pampering myself which includes shopping, pedicures and other goodies :) this is MUCH needed as I haven't done anything like this for myself in EONS ::<------ yea, soooo a word:: I hope I still know how to shop, I'm a LOT rusty :s Should be fun nonetheless!!
