Little update

I hope you all are having a very splendid Sunday!!! It's finals time for me so if you were wondering why I hadn't really posted, my final material has been in my hand, on my mind and in my face lately. I actually take my final tomorrow afternoon so once it's over it should be back to your regularly scheduled program lol......

It's been a little over 30 days since I started taking Mineral rich energy drink. *If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's the POST* At first I couldn't really tell if I had gotten any significant growth cause ::as if I can say it enough lol:: my hair is still currently under processed so I can't just LOOK at my hair and see a difference..... but I did notice that it is has gotten very thick; to me that equates potential length. YAY! Here's a little length comparison:

See a difference? I will do a 60 day review next month when I get my relaxer!! I re-ordered the drink on Wednesday cause I was running really low and I finally ran out completely Saturday. My new bottle comes in sometime next week and I can't wait! Have a good day :)

It's in.....

My bottle of Mineral rich arrived on Wednesday I wasn't expecting to get it so soon, it was a nice surprise. My plans are to take it as directed (2 tablespoons or 30 ml) everyday and do a little check in on it in about 30 days to see how or if it's having an effect on me......

Hmmm....... let the games begin!

Idle Chit Chat

I may be little bit behind in hair care world but have you all heard of Mineral Rich energy drink? I was catching up with a friend over the weekend and we got onto the subject of hair. She began to tell me about this drink that her beautician told her about that was helping one of the clients grow her hair out..... The first thing that popped up in MY mind was " A drink? Hair care products are getting out of control now" My friend didn't know too much about the product, she just said told me I could look it up on Amazon.com. So I did.

When I first read the description all I saw was that it was an energy drink that was full of B-12 and several other vitamins and trace minerals. Nothing special to me at first glance. So I took it a step further and youtube-d it. So far I've only found 2 different ladies who are talking about this stuff. The first lady I saw said that she had been drinking the stuff for years to help give her some extra energy and one of the side effects was that she noticed her hair was growing.... alot. The other lady I saw on YT actually watched the first lady's video, decided to try it for herself and apparently has gotten good results from it.

Hmmmm.......

My curiosity is piqued.

You guys don't really know this about me but when I'm curious about something, I usually try my luck with it in some shape, form or fashion...... really just to gain my own personal experience with it. This is looking like something I want to try, just to see if it will have any effect on my hair. I mean this drink is full of vitamins and minerals that the body needs and uses, how could it not affect my hair? Now if it doesn't, then I can still reap the benefits of having great energy ::seeing as it is an "energy drink" and all::

My question is: Have ya'll heard of this? I saw a thread over on LHCF about this too.... fairly new.

My friend and I are actually going to try it together; we are set to order it this weekend..... let's see how this goes! Once it comes in the mail I will make sure and keep you guys posted if you are interested :)

Hair: Growth aids Pt. 2

So I wrote about the growth aids that I'm using a few weeks ago and I mentioned that I used one more growth aid........

MICONAZOLE NITRATE AKA Monistat AKA *cough* cooch cream *cough*

Lol. I had heard so much about it very early in my journey that I HAD to try it........ what  gathered from the all the posts and reviews when after first heard about it was that it is an anti-fungal cream used to treat vaginal yeast infections and women who had used it for extended periods of time noticed more hair growth in that area..... So I'm assuming somebody one day was like "if it makes the hair growth down there, I wonder if it'll make it grow on my head!" Thus.... the sensation began lol.

I used it for a long while back in '09 to try and even out my hair..... here were my results:

I'm not sure why I stopped using it..... I guess like somebody fresh on their journey something new and exciting came along and I hopped on that bandwagon. Since getting my hair cut, I've decided to revisit miconazole nitrate to help me achieve my goal of being APL/BSL this year. I make it into my own personal mix by adding castor oil and peppermint oil....My hair loves this mix!! It makes my hair feel a little heavier and slicker but as the same time very moisturized and to me that a good trade off.
Pics of my mix:

I apply it to my scalp like grease every 2 days...... this stuff also helps with my dandruff!!
I'll be sure to keep you all posted on my progress with this. Cross ya fingers for me :)

Hair: Growth Aids Pt.1

I feel it's time to talk about what I'm to help boost my hair growth. Like most on a hair journey, I have invested in a few supplements and products that I think will/have help me gain length. Notice I only said Gain and didn't mention Retain- No pill, powder or product can help you retain length; that's all on you and your hair practices!!

**Disclaimer: I am in no way an expert on hair or vitamins & supplements!! Just speaking from my own personal search and experiences**

Few years ago when I first started my journey I wanted to try something that would help me increase and steady the growth of my hair since I was dealing with devastating breakage..... I decided to pick up some Spring Valley hair, nail and skin vitamins from Walmart- we've been inseperable since.

These supplements give me all the essential vitamins that I would get in a multivitamin plus it gives me a little biotin for my hair and nails. I love these things! Since I started taking them back in '09 my nails are impeccable- thick, strong and to my delight they have a very defined white tip so when I go get a manicure I don't really need paint, just a shine and I'm out!
My hair began to grow out more and gained incredible thickness that I hadn't seen since my natural days back in H.S. I got my hair almost even with these supps by themselves, but I felt like I need more of a kick..... So I did a little more research.

I was browsing along on LHCF ::I'm a permanent lurker over there:: and I notice some of the ladies talk about a supp called MSM. It's real name is Methylsulfonylmethane ::try saying that 3 times fast:: and it's basically sulfur in powder form.... Now sulfur is the main component to your hairs structure, so your hair sort of kind of needs it to grow properly. We get sulfur naturally through our diet by eating foods like meat, fish, dairy product, eggs and onions but I don't think I eat enough of those food all the time to have a sufficient amount flowing..... so I bought a bottle:

Now I am somewhat of an experimental person when it comes to supplements and my hair. If people are claiming it does something for ya hair but others said it didn't do jack-squat, I was that person that would go out and buy it just to have my own personal opinion to fall back on. So I'll put it like this: MSM works for ME. In combination with the hair nail and skin vitamins, my hair growth with MSM was phenomenal in my eyes! It was also shiny and soft, I loved it.... needless to say, its been a keeper since as well.

I recently started using vitamin D3 gummies..... And I have no idea where I read about it but I had read that since people hardly ever go outside in the sun anymore that more and more people are becoming deficient in vitamin D. As a healthcare major I've had to sit a few nutrition classes and in one we had to keep track of EVERYTHING we ate for 3 days and then input it in this program that showed us all of the vitamins and nutrients we were taking in :: try to imagine how much fat, salt and alcohol a class full of college students were really taking in here....::  Our teacher pointed out how all across the board that we were all very deficient in Vitamin D which helps synthesize the calcium in our bodies....and stimulate the keratin to form our hair. I started taking these because although I do drink milk, I don't get a chance to go outside like I want so I figure it would help me out. Needless to say it does so I've made these a staple along with the other 2.

I personally like these vitamins and supplements because they've helped ME. Now I can't speak for everybody but I like the results that I get when I use them. I've made them staples in my journey and I plan to use them until I reach my goals. However, after I go into maintenance mode I will only use the Hair, nail and skin vits and D3....it won't really be a need for MSM.

SO yea, these are my growth aids..... I have decided to revisit an old growth aid that I will talk about real soon. You may know what it is.... alot of ladies think it's taboo....but hey, it's my head so I can do what I wanna to it!
