I think I got it.

Actually I know I got it........

The constant gnawing heat that comes over me while at work, disturbs me at night when I want to sleep and consumes me as I watch television...... It rises up inside of me and turns me into some sort of crazed animal. The fever.

Missing you....

I'm missing my younger brother something terrible right now! I was just writing him a letter and this flood of memories came rushing in and by the end of the letter I'm sniffling and tears are rolling non-stop...... He's  incarcerated; been in there for a few years, still got a few years to go..... but it feels like an eternity!! I try my very best to keep my little brother uplifted and encouraged thru my letters, I talk about what I have going on.... what I hear about his friends and just crazy stuff I come across to make him smile.... I am a believer that you have to let the people on the other side of the fence know that THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN. I pray for his safety every night and I always say my extra special prayer made just for him :).

One day soon baby brother.... me and you will be together again!!
-Love,
ya big Sis.

It was all good this way

Happy friggin' Monday!!

LMAO.... who makes these???? I must know!

The past week has definitely zipped past me!
It's crazy how when you are enjoying the people in your presence the days just sort of mush together til you look up and time is up...... where is this lightning fast time when school is in??? Guess it only works when you are actually having fun.....WOMP. Lol

I thoroughly enjoyed my mother being down here with us this past week. It was her first time out here in San Antonio and I wanted to make sure she had a grandiose time! We took in the sights, hung out at a late night bingo session  ::didn't win though, dammint!:: chilled poolside with a cookout going on in the background.... the whole nine. At the end of the week I was wishing she could stay a few more days just to see some more stuff but at the same time ready for her to head home cause I was worn out from being hostess back to back.....I'm not wrong, am I?

My mommy and me :)

The best part of the week was when I got to play dress up and try on a few bridal gowns!! Here are a few I tried on:

The consultant wanted me to stay with the fit-and-flare/mermaid/trumpet style cause of my body shape......I tried on like 20 dresses that day! I could see myself is some of them, but none of these spoke to me the way one of the dresses did.....so I RANG THAT BELL!!!! Yep, that's right I found my dress; this just got so much more real for me....... I would put a pic up but I don't want to spoil it just yet, gotta get the suspense going lol. And we couldn't have picked a better time to come in cause David's bridal is having their "Semi-Annual Sale" and I got $100 off of my dress. Jackpot! Plus I got to  put it on layaway since they had my size in the store, saving my daddy some money
::cause he's the one buying it lol::

Such a happy gal right now! Now that the gown is out of the way, I need to focus on invitations/save the dates and what the wedding party is going to wear..... Have I posted wedding colors? I think I have, I'll have to check but just in case I did not they will be Purple (regency) and Red (apple) with gold accents......Yeas, we are out there lol but I think once it's all pulled together it will be fabulous!!

Welp, guess that's it for now...... Have a great Monday :)

Just some ramblings

First off I hope everybody is finishing out a great weekend!!

I personally had a very good one; Some of my in-laws decided to come to town to visit me!! You guys just don't know how grateful I was to be spending time with some familiar faces.... and the best part was that THEY CAME TO SEE ME!!!!!! I guess all that silent whining and complaining I'd done in the past didn't go in vain lol. I showed them the high spots of the city and took them to the tourist areas where we had lots and lots of fun; I think they enjoyed being here as much as I did them :)

But the fun don't stop there!! Mi Madre is flying in from out of state tomorrow to spend the entire week with her best girl [me]!! I'm excited for her to see me in my new environment. As an engaged woman.  The last time my mom laid eyes on me in the state of Texas was 3yrs ago right after I moved into my first apartment... she helped me pick out my first furniture pieces. I got all sorts of things lined up for us to do while she is here... but the best part, hands down, is the wedding gown shopping..... I.CAN'T. WAIT.

Lewis also comes home in a few days. He's a little down that he couldn't be home to see and spend time with his sister that came over the weekend, and even more down that his mom won't be able to come and visit/ meet my mom while she's in town. Poor babes. I'm going to make sure that we do stuff to lift his spirits too... even if it's something small like a home cooked meal.

Oh and last but certainly not least..... I got me a protective style for the summer: individual braids. Yes, I had been talking them up for about a month or so and I finally took the plunge and spent the time AND money to get them done! I must say this is money well spent! I am in absolute love with my braids and they fit me sooo well! I think I can easily keep them up for about 2 months or at least the end of the summer.....  The only tweek I'll be making to my regimen is the amount of washing I'll be doing. Instead of washing every Sunday and Wednesday it will be every 2wks. Can you believe I found the lady that did them on Craigslist? I am not going to front I search A LOT of stuff on craigslist [it's actually how I found a hairstylist when I first moved to SA] and though at first I was skeptical, I'm glad I went forward with it. The first girl I was going to let do them from craigslist was giving me this SUPER WEIRD vibe; and this chick had the nerve to tell me that she was going to do my hair on the back porch of her BF's seemingly abandoned house....
Wait, what did you just say?
........in San Antonio weather?
HELL NAW!

I had to go, there was no way..... and I mean NO WAY I was going to sit out in 95 degree weather willingly for 5-7 hrs getting my hair done. Just wasn't happenin'.

But anywhos, here is what the braids look like:

Fly right???
Tooodles :)
