Vent session

I've been very busy lately. Trying to organize my life and get a routine down since I'm a working gal now...... It's still a bit of a struggle. I'm too tired most days to do housework and that further makes me feel as though I'm not on the ball with managing my time. *Sigh* I need to get it together.

I believe I'm still in what's called the "transitional phase." Phasing out of being a student with lots and LOTS of time on my hands to clean and manage the home, available for my husband at all times and eager to do at the drop of a hat among numerous other things.... to a career woman with less time spent in the house and more time spent away. To be honest, I don't know how much I like it right now. This very well could be me just struggling with the fact that I haven't mastered my organization strategy yet, and with due time I'll get it all down in a way that satisfies me. Until then..... just keep me in your prayers!

I know it's only a matter of time before everything will smooth itself out.....right now it just seems chaotic in my eyes. What a journey!

Nobody told me!!

Not one person who owns a home told me that it would be sooo overwhelming to decorate a house!! We've been in the house going on two weeks now and everyday I get up and say "alright, today I'm going to do this this and this" and by 4pm I've only just started on those things! Usually it's because some time during the day I've walked past a room and spotted something else that I needed to do and ended up fiddling with that for a while..... or starting and stopping a project constantly for lack of design vision/decisiveness/frustration...... SIGH .

I want to enjoy creating character in our home, but I am finding it to be a bit stressful. For one there is like a 500% increase in rooms and space from the 1 bedroom we lived in for 2 years..... And for two I have like 8 different design ideas running through my head simultaneously as I walk through my house with not the slightest clue on where to start. I did get some good advice yesterday I that plan to follow though; I was at church confiding in one of the members how overwhelmed I felt trying to decorate you would never guess what she said?

"Focus on one room at a time."
That simple.

And like magic, it made sense lol. She told me that if I kept trying to do every room at once I would never see any of my progress and I would probably go crazy and broke trying to complete the daunting task. "Save money up and complete one room at a time, you will enjoy it more." Thank you for easing my mind!

So that's what I plan to do! Wonder which room I'll do first? Stay tuned to find out.......... :)

Exam blues

I just got through taking my test a few minutes ago....... All of our exam are the computerized kind that give you your grade as soon as you submit it....... I was VERY nervous today submitting mine.

I didn't pass.
I just wanted to pick up the computer and slam it on the ground when I seen my grade. I wanted to burst out in tears.... hell, I still kinda want to. It's the lowest grade I've made on an exam since starting the program. I feel awful about my grade! I'm not going to pretend that I knew all the material cause in all honesty, I didn't. I really couldve used a few more days of studying and then I wouldve felt more prepared. I was not prepared for the type of questions they asked on that test. *SIGH* There is nothing to do now but wait and see if they throw out any questions that could potentially give me points....... and get ready for the last exam before finals (which is in 2wks)

I can't mope about this. I gotta just dust myself off and make sure I compensate for that grade by making a really high grade on the next exam.......

I will remain OPTIMISTIC!!
Guess I'll go back to class..... I think it just started.

Just a thought.....

Why is it when you move away everybody always says "when are you coming back to visit?" and "you need to come see us more often" Uhm, last I remembered YOU had a car and the time off to spare to come visit ME/US too!!! I am beginning to despise to hear those phrases. I know we left the town we grew up in but why do we always have to be the ones packing up, spending extra $ on gas and confined to sleeping on the floor of somebody's living room for a few days? Can the roles be reversed sometimes? COME SEE US. Don't get me wrong I love seeing the familiar faces, places and people but I want them to make a trip to see us as well!! I feel like we accommodate everybody ALL THE TIME..... we are even going to have our wedding in our hometown just so all of our friends and Lewis' family won't have to travel ::my family lives 5 STATES AWAY, but they are WILLING to travel for my special day, what's up now?::

And you wanna know what excuse I've heard the most? "S.A is too far.... that's a 5hr drive"
No shit? Cause we drive that far every time we come to visit!

::POUT::  I don't care if I'm being childish about this situation..... I just want friends and family to make time and effort to come visit us like we have that's all! So because I feel this way I can't guarantee that we'll be making any appearances for a while.....hmph.

VENT OVER.

Sorry that had been on my chest for a while! I know it's seem a bit early for me to feel that way but I got a feeling it's still going to be like this 6mths from now..... I gotta find a way to deal. Don't get me wrong I miss everything I left behind but I refuse to keep making those LONG trips out there if nobody wants to do the same :(

Am I overreacting? Has anybody felt the way I'm feeling? Similar situation? Ease my mind.... please!
