I think I got it.

Actually I know I got it........

The constant gnawing heat that comes over me while at work, disturbs me at night when I want to sleep and consumes me as I watch television...... It rises up inside of me and turns me into some sort of crazed animal. The fever.

Relaxer update

I recently bit the bullet and headed to a salon for a relaxer re-touch. Let's face it, I felt I had entirely too much under proccessed hair I was dealing with and could not properly correct it. My salon visit went surprisingly well.... and I'll speak more on that in a second. Let's take a look at my hair........
Ya'll I just can't get it right, apparently. No, what I think seriously happened was this: I already had a thinning spot in my ends and I struggled with finding a proper moisturizer for my VERY THIRSTY ends during this stretch. So I ended up with more thinning and breakage. I wanted to just tell the stylist to cut my hair when she showed it to me, but I am in KISS boot camp challenge and I want to try and at least nurse my ends for a while until I know for sure what I want to do. My hair goal for the challenge was to make BSL by June..... that light is already looking really dim. I'm not a quitter though! I've already made the necessary changes to my hair routine to get me (hopefully) on the right track. I've incorporated Elasta QP Mango Butter and Olive oil moisturizer and Aphogee's pro-vitamin leave -in conditioner into my hair routine ( a moisturizer and a leave-in are what I have been searching for this past stretch!)..... wish me luck with these items, I'll give my opinion after a period of use

My salon visit: It went sooo well! I actually found Amanda (stylist) on Craigslist....Where I find everybody and everything else lol  and she was the most pleasant person to be around! She told me she specializes in healthy hair and that she had alot of natural clients....... what surprised about the entire visit was the fact that she was Mexican! Amanda told me that she first learned how to do hair on African American textures..... What a blessing! I may go back to for other services she offers but I know definitely I'm in her chair for my next relaxer! I'm just excited that I finally found someone who listens and gives helpful advice..... Thank you baby Jesus

I will admit, I slacked last year with my hair, especially toward the end. And I hate that I have to start off the year with my hair looking like this, but this really just gives me the motivation I need to go hard in this too along with the other aspects of my life.

I'll call it a SET-UP not a SETBACK.

Have any of you had any recent hair issues? What types of moisturizers do you use? Leave-ins? Got any tips you want to share....... leave them here!

Let me show you what I've been up to

I am a member over at the hair site KISS and I recently signed up for the KISS boot camp challenge for 2o13 (here is the link) in which the main rules are that you can not use direct heat and you wear your hair in protective styles. Seeing as my roots have been severely unruly lately, I entertained the idea of making a wig cap to wear.....This was my very first time attempting the task so you can believe this was a very interesting experience LOL. I wanted curly hair so I found some curly tracks I had bought for a sew in a long time ago in my closet, and then went and bought another pack to make the wig full.

Because this was my first time, I watched maybe a dozen videos about what to use and how to lay the tracks. One video suggested that if you use track glue (which I did) that you should place a shower cap under the wig cap so that it doesn't stick to your hair or the mannequin head, so I went that route.

I ended up laying the tracks in a U-shape starting from the bottom of the cap all the way up to the crown then I laid them straight across for the remainder of the cap until.... I ran out of hair. I proceeded to let the tracks dry overnight before I put it on my head. Well the next day I tried to put the cap on and it wouldn't fit. AT ALL. I didn't know what I did wrong until I realized that I had placed it on the mannequin head and it fit-perfectly. The wig molded to that head and dried and was now too small to fit on head with my hair under it! I was beginning to get frustrated so for 2 days I didn't touch it, and then I braided my hair back into two braids and tried it again.... it ended up looking like this:

::Can you tell where I ran out of hair? lol::

It was still too small, but I was determined to where it some-damn-where so I simply covered the front with a headband

Voila! It seemed to work that day, but when I wore it to work a day or so later the cap kept riding up and threatening to fall off; even with bobby pins securing it down :( I thought that I could cut the little section that didn't have hair on it and just do a quick straw set on the front section of my hair, but after I cut the dern thing it definitely wouldn't stay on my head anymore:

I don't  like to give up on things but this wig has given me the blues too much too soon, it is safe to say that this was a FAIL for me. I'm not going to throw it away though, probably need to just look at with fresh eyes........ like maybe a month from now lol until then I will just place it in the closet out of sight. I had high hopes for it too.... maybe too high for a novice ;)

Welp, that was my first wig experience! Hope you enjoyed the walk-thru process, if you have ANY tips on how to make this wig better or tips for a future wig please do not hesitate to comment or even shoot me an email to mrsbeeimmee@ymail.com.

Until next time!

To my dearest neighbor

Dear Person who lives with my neighbor upstairs,

Are you aware of the patio just right outside of that front window? You know the one with the sliding glass door, that gives you access to the OUTSIDE of the apt? Oh I'm sure you are cause I've seen you sitting out there on a few occasions. Since we know you are oriented to the area, can you please take you and that damn cigarette that you seem to want to light up every morning IN THE BATHROOM outside? I mean, really! What is truly the point of smoking in the bathroom when you have access to a porch and a patio? Do you like to bask in the second-hand smoke? Are you trying to hide it from my neighbor by doing it in there, cause if you are that's stupid! He'll still be able to smell it. Dumb ass Smart guy SMH. Now I'm not one to try and tell anyone what to do but the smoke you put out in your bathroom travels down into our bathroom and its awful. Now when you can't even properly brush your teeth in the morning or breath regularly while doing your business for that matter- there's a definite issue. I don't want to have to get all "bitchy neighbor" on you but you pushin' it! Just be courteous and take that ish outside please, thank you :)

Signed with attitude,
Your downstairs neighbor who would rather die from natural causes or a freak accident NOT second-hand carcinogens

I wonder if I should print this and place it on their door? LOL

I know what I don't want to be like when I grow up.....

Have you ever had the feeling that you might be getting manipulated because you're the "new guy?" That's how I felt at work yesterday. It was only by one person though, and she irritated the FIRE out of me. A nurse kept trying to make me tend to her patients exclusively all shift yesterday but I worked with her and 3 other nurses and their patients too......and that was nearly impossible for me to do, so you can imagine how the day went *cough* shitty! *cough* SN: I'm a nurses assistant so I deal with most, if not all of a patients care needs (except medications and things an RN is licensed to do) for a nurse. The issue I kept having with one nurse was that I felt like she expected me to make all of her patients a priority just because. One time she literally told me "that other nurses patient can wait, my patient needs your attention NOW" while I was in the middle of doing something else!!! SMH. She kept riding my back about doing different things and acting impatient if I couldn't handle it right when she wanted me to. During the day I even had to stop what I was doing completely and go attend to her patient because she decided to get a lil loud with me. I ONLY did it because I felt my blood boiling and I didn't want to lose my professionalism by getting rowdy with that lazy ass bi-.... Oops, my bad. Did I call her lazy out loud? Welp, it's already out now.......

Yes this was an extremely lazy nurse! She wanted me to do EVERYTHING for her patients. Hell, if I could pass their medications she would've prolly been making me do that too. She sat behind the desk most of the day blowing my phone up about one thing or another; but always threw in that she was always "too busy" to help in any shape, form, or fashion! I had 3 other nurses to answer to and they were 10x more helpful than she was! Me and her actually ended up having words because I just couldn't take it anymore. I felt bullied, and I've never ever had that feeling. I also notified the charge nurse about how she was behaving; I'm assuming she said something to her cause she stop blowing my phone up. I vented to Lewis last night and I told him that I NEVER WANTED TO BE A NURSE LIKE THAT. She has terrible work ethic! From what I hear she's a really nice person..... But my impression of her is already made, she's to prove otherwise to me. Then again, I'll just try not to encounter her anymore. I digress.

Rant over.

Have you ever felt like somebody was trying to hit you with "the okie doke" just because you were new? How did you deal with it?

Feel free to comment below and as always thanks for reading!

Hair update

I'm 5 wks post as of yesterday..... At this point I feel like my stretch is dragging along, but I always feel that way around this time. Since my last relaxer left me under processed EVERYWHERE my new growth is extra, ultra, thick and full. Don't know how I feel about that right now cause it makes it really hard to do any type of styles with out putting heat on my hair. Not really trying to use heat like that either.

Really at a loss as to what I should do with my hair at this point.... I'm over using buns and clipping my hair up all the time but it's making me look super boring and plain! I plan to wash tomorrow after school and regroup to gather more hair styles for my hairs current state.

Have I mentioned that I'm frustrated with my hair? Yep, last week I was tempted to relax it ::at 4 wks eeek!:: just because it's giving me so much grief..... *SIGH* I digress.

Someone save me from my hair......
