Last week was such a blur. I was on spring break (my last one EVER btw! Sad face) and had to make a trip to East TX for wedding planning. It was kind of like an awkward experience for me. By the end of the day I was overwhelmed, a bit overstimulated and extra tired. Let me give you an overview of what all I did!
My planner decided to bring a florist along with us so she could envision arrangements as we went. I've never worked with floral arrangements so that was totally out of my league and over my head to begin with.... but I digress. Our first stop was the church; we created a ceremony design and talked about how things would look on the day. One of my issues with the church is that they have these side windows with sheer curtains on them that I would have to walk past to get to the front of the church. Everybody would see me walking by the windows and my grande Cinderella entrance will be ruined! So we talked about a way to either cover the windows up or shield me so that I make it into the church unseen. Coming up with those ideas was fun lol
Next we made a trip to the reception place. There we conjured up a design (we aren't really theme people) and made a rough looking schematic for table placement and room setup. The owner actually gave us a few ideas and had pictures of other events that we could see. He even said that he could help out by using some of the decor he had to drape the ceiling for us- for free! Thank you!
After lunch, we headed over to a rental place to look at decorations. We ended up basically getting everything rented there at a dirt cheap price! No seriously, what place can you think of that will drape the table, put on an overlay, cover up to 6 chairs and put sashes on them for only $30 a table??? NOBODY buddy!!! I was elated, I just knew we were about to just hand over all of our money at this place......With the decorations in my sight and the layout I think that the reception is going to be soooo beautiful, I can't wait to see it as it's coming together!
My day was almost over (yes, all of this had to be done in one day) but I still needed to taste the food from the caterer and see what this florist was talking about in terms of pricing. Once the food made it and I had my taste, the caterer actually apologized claiming she's not used to cooking for one person so the food may not taste all the way good....... She was right, it was just..... eh. We talked about what all need to be done to the food for the reception and she stored that away in her memory bank. Now the florist: She was just scribbling away on a sheet of notebook paper! She finally showed me a price and, to be completely honest: IT WAS EFFIN' OUTRAGEOUS. But like I said at the very beginning, I was overwhelmed and overstimulated so like a goof ball I said "I guess that looks okay" but in my head I was screaming "Oh hell naw! We not paying that!" I ended up giving the florist a deposit then on the total, but in actuality it's really just to secure her services. Later after it was all over someone sat me down and explained that she only gave me an estimate, not a for sure price so I won't know the real total until these flowers are in season. So, that had me thinking, did she try and hit me with the okey doke?
After all of that was done, I spent the next day searching for flowergirl dresses with one of my flower girls...... she couldn't wait to try them on! It was too cute lol..... I didn't decide on one yet, at least now I know the girls sizes and can send their moms pics as I come across some cute ones.
124 days to go! EEEEEEK!

Wedding stuff: bridesmaid dresses...... the dress
While we were on our mini vacay to Mississippi a few weeks ago, we figured it would be smart to gather up the bridesmaids and take them to David's bridal to look at styles of dresses. I decided to let them choose the type of dress they would be wearing.... And the above pic is what they alternatively decided on.
Their first choice was a strapless dress with a very pretty design on the chest area, but the lady who was helping us (or should I say wasn't really) didn't mention that the dress only came in one of my colors. I specifically told her I wanted it to be able to come in both..... I almost had my first bridezilla moment on her! But my calm took over and I ended up discovering this dress. Thank goodness for my high patience level!
What do you think? Cute? I think the dress itself is..... but my BM have all kinds of body shapes, and I ain't knocking my girls at all but, I will say I'm a little iffy on how it looks on each of them....
Is that mean or rude to say/feel?
Lucky for me they are planning to work all that out without me saying a word to them.....
Honesty is the best policy!

It was all good this way
Happy friggin' Monday!!
The past week has definitely zipped past me!
LMAO.... who makes these???? I must know!
The past week has definitely zipped past me!
It's crazy how when you are enjoying the people in your presence the days just sort of mush together til you look up and time is up...... where is this lightning fast time when school is in??? Guess it only works when you are actually having fun.....WOMP. Lol
I thoroughly enjoyed my mother being down here with us this past week. It was her first time out here in San Antonio and I wanted to make sure she had a grandiose time! We took in the sights, hung out at a late night bingo session ::didn't win though, dammint!:: chilled poolside with a cookout going on in the background.... the whole nine. At the end of the week I was wishing she could stay a few more days just to see some more stuff but at the same time ready for her to head home cause I was worn out from being hostess back to back.....I'm not wrong, am I?
The best part of the week was when I got to play dress up and try on a few bridal gowns!! Here are a few I tried on:

The best part of the week was when I got to play dress up and try on a few bridal gowns!! Here are a few I tried on:
The consultant wanted me to stay with the fit-and-flare/mermaid/trumpet style cause of my body shape......I tried on like 20 dresses that day! I could see myself is some of them, but none of these spoke to me the way one of the dresses did.....so I RANG THAT BELL!!!! Yep, that's right I found my dress; this just got so much more real for me....... I would put a pic up but I don't want to spoil it just yet, gotta get the suspense going lol. And we couldn't have picked a better time to come in cause David's bridal is having their "Semi-Annual Sale" and I got $100 off of my dress. Jackpot! Plus I got to put it on layaway since they had my size in the store, saving my daddy some money
::cause he's the one buying it lol::
Such a happy gal right now! Now that the gown is out of the way, I need to focus on invitations/save the dates and what the wedding party is going to wear..... Have I posted wedding colors? I think I have, I'll have to check but just in case I did not they will be Purple (regency) and Red (apple) with gold accents......Yeas, we are out there lol but I think once it's all pulled together it will be fabulous!!
Welp, guess that's it for now...... Have a great Monday :)

Wedding Stuff: Bridesmaid dresses
Since our wedding is in the dead of the summer next year, I don't want my poor bridesmaids to hate me for making them wear long, airflow resistant dresses that will smother them once they start moving around! I've narrowed down the dresses to these bad boys right here for them to pick from:
I think this style is perfect for a summer wedding and my BM will definitely thank me for it. I really like the last 2, but it's up to all of my BMs to give the most votes for one.
Which one would you choose?
